Just before the MWC 2017, MediaTek has announced its new processor oriented towards ultra-thin smartphones with a dual camera. Yes, the latest SoC of MediaTek, Helio P25 is the latest addition to the P series, which was introduced back in September. The new Helio P25 processor is based on 16nm TSMC process technology which is accompanied with MediaTek Imagiq Image Signal Processor (ISP) technology, just like P20.
MediaTek Helio P25 Specs
The new Helio P25 processor has up to 13 MP dual camera support. This is further optimized for Color + Mono de-noise and real-time shallow DoF bokeh. It even supports Video HDR with full preview. The Helio P25 also has high auto exposure – Turbo 3A, which improves AE convergence speed by 30 -55%.
According to MediaTek, the Helio P25 helps a user to get the features of a high-end camera at their fingertips. Some of the features are depth-of-field, which is mainly coupled to expensive lenses, and high-performance auto exposure that helps in capturing images with the highest quality in vivid lighting scenario.
Helio P25 has an octa-core ARM Cortex – A53 processor clocked at up to 2.GHz. This is faster than the 2.3GHz P20. The ARM Mali – T880 dual GPU clocked at up to 900 MHz, Cat.6 LTE, up to 6GB and LPDDR4x memory are similar to P20.
