Yesterday we covered the leaks of Micromax Canvas Magnus, by MMX_Newscaster, and one day later Micromax Canvas Magnus has gone on sale at the expected price of Rs. 14,999. The phone will form a good 1.5 GHz MT6589T option at this price range which is over crowded with MT6589 Quad core processors clocked at a slightly lower frequency of 1.2 GHz.

This phone comes with a 5 inch display with 720 p HD resolution which is similar to popular phones like Micromax Canvas 4 and Micromax Canvas HD. The display will give you 294 pixels per inches and a good viewing experience.

The processor is 1.5 GHz Quad core processor MT6589T which comes with PowerVR SGX 544 MP GPU clocked at 347 MHz. The RAM capacity is 1 GB which is standard in this price range and the internal storage is 4 GB, which can be further extended to 32 GB. Micromax Canvas 4 which is available at around 1500 INR more comes with better 16 GB storage but less powerful processor.

The Camera features are pretty good with 12 MP primary camera and a 2 MP secondary camera. With most manufacturers offering 8 MP cameras, this phone stands apart from the rest in this department. As per our experience with past Micromax Camera’s, this is expected to give you good shots in proper lighting conditions.

The battery capacity is same as what we have seen in all popular phones of canvas series. The battery capacity is 2000 mAh although it is not clear as of yet if this phone will have a removable back door. Connectivity features include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm audio jack and MicroUSB port.

This phone combines MT6589T chipset with 720 p HD resolution(won’t be overburdened by Full HD) and Stock Android 4.2. This combination hints at a powerful performance and we expect this phone to shine at this price range. Its main competitor will be Gionee Elife E5 which comes at a higher price range. You can buy this phone from Snapdeal for Rs. 14,999

2.Gionee Elife E3 (not sure about brand & service in my areas i.e.Kolhapur-Maharashtra).
3.Lemon Aspire A4(Full HD Phone at Rs.13500 but same problem as above)&

My main requirement is good screen quality,Camera & after sales service which should last for
atleast one & half year since I am investing my hardly earned money. I can strech my budget upto
    18k.
    thanks in advance.
    Mangesh.

    • Gionee e3 on the first and second you can consider lava iris 504q

E3 has better crisp display, great camera and after sales is good if not the best.

Lava iris 504q has better free goodies, some great gestures features, decent camera but not as crisp display as e3 and over all build quality is good on e3.

      • Sir,
Thanks for the same one. But Spice mi-525 is FHD with Turbo processor with lowest price in its segment compared to above two are HD & NO turbo processor.Pl.reply.
        Regards,
        Mangesh.

  2. Hi,
I have been a great fan of your honest reviews and again I must say that you have done good review for Canvas magnus. However i just need urgent feedback from you on below as i am going to buy this phone thru mobilestore.in @13,679/-
    1) This phone does not have magnetic sensor. Can you please clarify how does this affect the phone is terms of various apps and GPS if no magnetic sensor present?
2)How is the camera quality overall front and back? Does the picture blurs when zoomed?
    3) Can you confirm that this handset has mt6589T turbo processor?
    4) Can you confirm that phone has GPS & A-GPS? Also if you confirm that GPS would work if no internet connection available?
    5) IS the screen protected by cornilla glass?
I would be really happy if you could provide me your feedback on above. Thanks in advance.

    • 1. Maginetic sensor helps in making GPS navigation more precise but it does not affect it to stop working if ur phone does not have it, phones without magnetic sensors can be used for GPS navigation.

      2. We cant comment much about the camera as we havent done the full review of the device.

      3. Yes it has MT6589 Turbo chipset.

      4. It has A GPS – it wont work without internet as it needs data to locate GPS coordinates and after that it does uses data but thats limited amount data being used while navigation.

      5. We have not heard the same about this phone, we will confirm this soon as we get the device for review.
