[MWC 2017] Moto G5, Moto G5 Plus Launched – Specs, Price And More

Motorola today launched the Moto G5 and G5 Plus at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. They are the successors of the Moto G4 and G4 Plus. Both the devices come with a metal unibody design. The Moto G5 and G5 Plus come with upgraded specs. Both Moto G5 and G5 Plus come with a full HD display, water repellent coating and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Both the devices run on Android 7.0 Nougat.

Moto G5 Specifications

The Moto G5 will be the “smaller” phone of the two. It will come with a 5 inch full HD display, protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The phone will run on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, with barely any UI changes.

Powering the Moto G5 will a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC, with an octa-core processor and Adreno 505 GPU. The basic version of the phone will come with 2 / 3 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage with support for microSD cards.

As for the imaging, the Moto G5 will come with a 13 MP rear camera with Phase Detection Autofocus and dual LED flash. On the front you will get a 5 MP camera.

Other features include front mounted fingerprint sensor, Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS. The Moto G5 will be powered by a 2800 mAh battery and will come with a rapid charger in the box.

Moto G5 Plus Specifications

The Moto G5 Plus is a bigger, more powerful version of the Moto G5. It will come with a 5.2 inch full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. As with the Moto G5, the G5 Plus will also run on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

Powering the Moto G5 Plus will be the very efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC with an octa-core processor and Adreno 506 GPU. The basic version is listed at 2 / 3 GB RAM with 32 GB internal storage, along with microSD card support. The company also announced a 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage variant.

Moto G5 Plus

The imaging aspect gets a big upgrade, too. The Moto G5 Plus will come with a 12 MP Dual Autofocus camera on the back with dual LED flash and f/1.7 aperture. On the front, you get a 5 MP camera with f/2.2 aperture.

Other features include front mounted fingerprint sensor, Dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS. The Moto G5 will be powered by a 3000 mAh battery and will come with a Turbo charger in the box.

Pricing and Availability

The Moto G5 has been priced at 199 Euros for 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage variant. The Moto G5 Plus has been priced at 217 Euros for the 2 GB RAM and 32 GB storage variant and 279 Euros for the 3 GB RAM and 32 GB Storage variant. The devices will be available in Lunar Gray and Fine Gold colors in Latin America, Europe, Asia Pacific and North America.
