Nokia X certified on TENAA, key specifications and design revealed

Nokia X launch is expected in China next week on May 16. It is said to be the latest mid-range smartphone from HMD Global and the first one from the company with a notch display. Nokia X has now been spotted on Chinese certification website TENAA and the listing has revealed some key specifications along with certain design elements of the handset.

According to the TENAA listing, the Nokia X model number is Nokia TA-1099. If we talk about specs, it will pack 19:9 display, dual rear cameras and more. Earlier last month, the company has showcased the smartphone at an event in Sanlitun experience store in Beijing confirming the notch on the display with a 19:9 aspect ratio.

Nokia X Specifications

As per the listing, the upcoming Nokia X is expected to sport a 5.8-inch full-HD+ (1080 x 2280 pixels) display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. It might feature an aluminum casing with rounded edges and a glass back similar to the Nokia 8 Sirocco. It will run a near-stock version of Android 8.1.0 Oreo.

The phone will be powered by an unnamed octa-core SoC clocked at 1.8GHz, which could be Snapdragon 636 or some MediaTek processor. It will be coupled with 3GB / 4GB / 6GB of RAM. There is expected to be 32GB / 64GB onboard storage, which will be expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card.

In terms of optics, the Nokia X will get a vertical dual rear camera setup with two 16MP sensors. Previous rumors had suggested that the Nokia X might come with a Carl Zeiss lens in the rear camera, however, that is not mentioned in the TENAA listing. There could be a 16MP front camera.

For connectivity, the phone comes with 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth, and USB support. It will include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, fingerprint sensor, and proximity. The Nokia X will pack a 3000mAh battery. Dimensions of the phone are 147.2 x 70.98 x 7.99 mm and it weighs 151 grams.

The phone is expected to come in Blue, Black, and Silver White colors. The Nokia X is expected to be priced at CNY 1,600 (Rs. 16,900 approx.) and it will be available via Suning.com in China after being officially announced on May 16th. There is no information available about its India launch.
