Reliance Jio is expected to soon launch its Fibre to the Home (FTTH) broadband service which was in the news for so long. The JioFiber has been in testing for so long and it was rumored to be launched near Diwali last year but the company postponed the launched for an extended testing.

A new report is coming out that the Reliance Jio has begun providing the Fiber to the Home (FTTH) broadband connection in selected markets. The company is providing 1.1TB of free data at 100Mbps download speeds in the country. A report from The Hindu hints that the service will start to roll out commercially in the second half of this year.

A source told The Hindu about the service, “The initial FTTH plan includes 100GB of free data at 100Mbps speed and once the data limited is exhausted, the customers can do top-up of 40 GB of free data 25 times in a month, effectively meaning 1,100 GB of free data a month.”

Mukesh Ambani said in a statement about the JioFiber, “The company continues to make progress for delivering Enterprise solutions, FTTH and IoT with beta trials initiated in a few locations. These services are being offered using the same integrated network and platforms.”

The report said that the interested customers can get the Jio Fiber FTTH connection by paying a refundable amount of Rs 4,500. The Jio router which will come with the connection will also be used as a set-top box when the company will release their IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) service.
