Samsung has launched two new smartphones in its J series in India today. Dubbed as the Samsung Galaxy J6 and Galaxy J8, both the budget smartphones come with infinity display and run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Along with the new J-series phones, Samsung has also launched two more smartphones in the A series- Galaxy A6 and A6+.
Recently, it was reported that Samsung will launch four new smartphones in India with infinity display. Now, the Galaxy J6 and Galaxy J8 are launched in India and apart from the display, other key features of the phones are Exynos 7870 and Snapdragon 450 processors, 4GB RAM and Galaxy J8 comes with a dual camera setup. On the other hand, Galaxy A6 and A6+ that were announced earlier this month are mid-range phones.
Samsung Galaxy J6 Specifications
The Galaxy J6 comes with a 5.6 inch (1480 x 720 pixels) HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display. It is powered by the 1.6GHz Octa-Core Exynos 7870 processor with Mali T830 GPU. The processor is paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage / 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.
The Galaxy J6 comes with a 13MP rear shooter with LED flash with f/1.9 aperture size and 8MP front-facing camera with LED flash and f/1.9 aperture size for low light conditions. The smartphone comes with fingerprint sensor at the back and runs on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box layered with Samsung Experience UI. The smartphone features 3,000mAh battery.
Samsung Galaxy J8 Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy J8 comes with a 6 inches HD+ (1480 x 720) Super AMOLED Infinity display. Under the hood, there is an Octa-Core Snapdragon 450 SoC paired with Adreno 506 GPU for gaming and graphics rendering. The processor is further coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card slot.
The Galaxy J8 comes with a dual camera setup including a 16MP shooter with f/1.7 aperture and a secondary 5MP camera with f/1.9 aperture. The selfie shooter is a 16MP camera with LED flash. The smartphone is powered by a 3,500mAh battery.
Samsung Galaxy J6, Galaxy J8 Pricing and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy J6 and J8 smartphones come in Black, Gold and Blue colors. The Galaxy J6 comes at a price of Rs 13,990 for the 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage version. The 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage variant of Galaxy J6 is priced at Rs 16,490. The Galaxy J6 will be available from May 22nd.
The Samsung Galaxy J8 is priced at Rs 18,990, and it will be available from June 20th. Both the smartphone will be available via Flipkart. The customers will get Rs. 1500 off while using the ICICI bank cards.

The Galaxy A6 comes with a 5.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass. The smartphone is powered by a 1.6GHz Octa-Core Exynos 7870 processor paired with Mali T830 GPU. It further features 4GB RAM and 32GB / 64GB internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD slot.
The Galaxy A6 comes with a 16MP rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and LED flash. The selfie camera is a 16MP shooter with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash for low light conditions. The smartphone features a fingerprint sensor, Samsung Pay Mini, and 3,000mAh battery.

The Galaxy A6+ comes with a 6-inch FHD+ (1080 x 2220) Super AMOLED display. Under the hood, there is a 1.8GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 450 with Adreno 506 GPU. The processor is paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage which is further expandable up to 256GB using microSD slot.
The Galaxy A6+ comes with a 16MP rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and a 5MP secondary rear camera with f/1.9 aperture size. The selfie camera is a 24MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash. It comes with a fingerprint sensor, Samsung Pay Mini and is powered by a 3,500mAh battery.
Samsung Galaxy A6, Galaxy A6+ Price and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy A6 and A6+ both come in Black, Blue, and Golden colors. The Galaxy A6 is priced at Rs 21,990 for the 32GB storage variant and Rs 22,990 for the 64GB variant. The Galaxy A6+ has been priced is Rs 25,990. Both of these smartphones will be available to buy from Amazon India from May 22.
