Simmtronics launched 7 inch calling tablet XPAD X-722 in India at a humble price of Rs 5,999. This tablet is yet another addition to the overcrowded budget tablet market. Let’s take a look at what this new tablet has to offer at such a low rated price.

This tablet has a 1.0 GHz Cortex A8 style ARM architecture GPU 400 2D/3D processor. Number of cores of the processor has not been specified. This is a moderate processor considering a 7 inch tablets. The RAM capacity backing this chip-set is 512MB,which may give you some lag while multi tasking . Chip-set of this device is supported by Android 4.0 ice cream sandwich Operating system. This again is lower version of android considering what other manufactures are offering, but will suffice for general purpose usage.

XPAD X -722 has a 7 Inch capacitive display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. This is again an average resolution. This device has a primary camera of 2MP and a secondary camera of 0.3 MP for video calling. This is in range with what other budget tablets offer. The internal memory of this device is 4GB and is expandable up to 32 GB.

An unexpected feature at this price range is 3500 mAh li-ion battery which is a little more than what budget tabs generally offer. The company claims it will provide you with a browsing time of 4- 5 hours. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi , 2G SIM slot, Bluetooth. Tablet also supports 3G through external dongle.


Simmtronics has laid more emphasis on calling facility and low price tag, as a result the hardware specs have suffered a little but still the price is quiet less compared to other 7 inch tablets like Samsung Galaxy tab 2 P3310( 9499INR) and Lenovo A2107 (9975 INR). XPAD X-772 is priced at Rs. 5, 999. It will not be enough for extensive gaming but will be sufficient enough for general purpose usage for which it is intended.
