Few days back Wickedleak teased its water proof handset and now the company has officially announce, the Wammy Passion X. Going by the promotional videos, the Wammy passion X will offer some serious waterproofing along with powerful hardware under the hood.
The display is 5 inches in size and the OGS LCD display will feature 1920 X 1080 pixel full HD resolution. To render that many pixels, the phone employs the power of 8 cores housed in MediaTek MT6592 octa core chipset clocked at 1.7 Ghz.
The octa core chipset is paired with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of onboard storage. In spite of the water proofing, the phone offers MicroSD card slot which can be used to augment the memory to further 64 GB. The operating system is Android 4.2. With Android 4.4 KitKat on Wammy passion Z+, same would have made more sense on this new flagship phone, but Wickedleak has decided to settle with the dated version for now.
The 13 MP camera at the back has a BSI sensor and is capable of full HD video recording, the front 5 MP shooter has also been provided for video calling and selfie lovers. The phone has dual SIM connectivity and moderate thickness of 8.95 mm.
The battery capacity is 2500 mAh which is higher than that in other domestic branded octa cores we have seen so far. How much back up it will actually provide, remains to be seen. Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth, and GPS.
The launch price is Rs. 22,499 for what Wikileak describes as “world’s first True hydrophobic smartphone”. Wickedleak has not cited any water proof certification to back these tall water proofing claims. You can buy the phone from Wickedleak official retail site.
