The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 has been launched at an event in China today alongside the Xiaomi Mi 8 line-up and MIUI 10. The new fitness band from Xiaomi comes with an updated design, added features like water resistance and heart rate sensor and an improved capacitive OLED touchscreen.

The new Xiaomi fitness band is the successor to the Mi Band 2 that was launched back in 2016. The affordable Mi Band 3 hasn’t changed much from the Mi Band 2, apart from tweaks in design and added features. The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 is priced at RMB 169 (approx. Rs 1,780) and is currently available in China.

Xiaomi Mi Band 3 Features

The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 features a 0.78-inch OLED display with rounded edges and a depressed button right below the display. The Mi band 3 comes with a heart-rate sensor, and other fitness and activity tracking features including step counting, sleep monitoring and more. The band is also water resistant up to 50m.

The Mi Band 3 is touted to be better connected with the smartphone and will feature improved notification prompts. This will include the ability to see who is calling and directly mute incoming calls on the band itself. The Mi Band 3 is supposed to offer 20 days battery life which is dependent on how it will be used.

There is also a higher variant of the band that also features NFC support for quick connectivity. The higher variant is priced at CNY 199 (approx. Rs 2,100).

The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 will come in three color options initially – orange, black and blue. The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 availability in India and other markets has not yet been announced.
