Xiaomi today launched its much awaited curved smartphone. Called the Mi Note 2, the latest smartphone from Xiaomi comes with a 5.7 inch OLED display with curves on both the sides. Apart from that, the Mi Note 2 also comes with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor and 6 GB RAM.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Specs
Xiaomi has embraced curves with the Mi Note 2. The phablet comes with curves on both the sides, on both front as well as the back. The curves on the front help enhance the viewing experience while those on the back help with gripping the big phone. The 5.7 inch OLED display panel still comes with a 1080p resolution. At 1920 x 1080 pixels on a 5.7 inch panel, you get a pixel density of ~386 PPI, which is still good enough.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 comes with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, with four CPU cores and Adreno 530 GPU. It is slightly overclocked version of the Snapdragon 820 processor released earlier this year.
On the memory front, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 comes in two versions – the affordable version with 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM and 64 GB UFS 2.0 storage and the higher end version with 6 GB LPDDR4 RAM and 128 GB UFS 2.0 storage. The internal storage cannot be expanded with a microSD card.
Coming to the imaging, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 comes with a 22.5 MP camera with Sony Exmor IMX218 sensor on the back along with f/2.0 aperture. You get a dual tone dual LED flash as well. Apart from that, the rear camera comes with EIS digital stabilisation and support for 4K video recording.
On the front, you get an 8 MP snapper with Sony Exmor IMX268 sensor. The front camera comes with an f/2.0 aperture and autofocus, along with a range of features including Beautify 3.0 and different modes.
Connectivity options include support for global LTE, including support for 6 network types. In total, the Mi Note 2 supports 37 bands – 22 of them being LTE bands. Other than that, the Mi Note 2 supports Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, IR Blaster and a high-quality 24-bit / 192kHZ DAC. The phone comes with a 3.5mm audiojack and a USB Type C port. The Mi Note 2 is powered by a 4070 mAh battery.
