Xiaomi To Update 35 Devices To MIUI 9, Including 4 Year-old Mi 2/2S

Recent reports have confirmed the arrival of MIUI 9 for Mi 2/2S. The Mi 2/2s went on sale in 2013. Despite being older devices, the Mi 2/2S still have more than 5 million active users, Xiaomi founder Lei Jung said. MIUI 9 is the latest UI update from Xiaomi.

The Xiaomi Mi 2/2S features a 4.3-inch display, 8MP and 2MP cameras, Snapdragon APQ8064 processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB ROM. It was launched back in April 2013.

About MIUI 9

MIUI is Xiaomi’s optimized skin based on Android. The MIUI 9 is the latest skin that is based on Android 7.1 Nougat (or older Android version for older devices). This skin adds many new features to your Mi device and will be rolling out this month only.

The latest update to MIUI brings multi-window support, Reply from the notification bar, smart gestures, optimized battery saver, inbuilt VPN and much more. The Mi 2/2S may not receive the full update but an optimized package to suit their hardware.
