Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Launching In India On January 19

Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the Redmi Note 4 in India on January 19, according to several reports. The company is bringing the Redmi Note 4 in India after launching it in China a few months ago. While the Chinese variant of the phone was launched with a deca-core Mediatek Helio X20 processor, the Indian version is reported to launch with a Qualcomm SoC once again.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Specifications

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes with a 5.5 inch full HD display, with a pixel density of ~401 PPI and a screen-to-body ratio of 72.7%. The phone was launched with Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on top.

Coming to the processor, reports suggest that Xiaomi will once again opt for a Qualcomm variant in India. This is also explained by the ongoing lawsuit with Ericsson that prevents Xiaomi from using Mediatek processors in its Indian devices. The phone could feature an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor with Adreno 506 GPU. The Indian variant of Redmi Note 3 features a hexa-core, but more powerful Snapdragon 650 processor with Adreno 510 GPU, so this move comes as a surprise.

Coming to memory and storage, we could see at least 3 versions of the Redmi Note 4 in India. The top most version is said to come with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. Next up is 4 GB with 32 GB internal storage. The cheapest version will come with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage. The phone will also come with a hybrid slot, allowing you to use either dual SIM or single SIM and a microSD card simultaneously.

In terms of imaging, the Redmi Note 4 features a 13 MP rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture and Phase Detection Autofocus and dual LED flash. The front houses a 5 MP camera. These camera specs are from the Chinese variant. If you remember, this was the case with the Redmi Note 3 as well. However, the Indian variant was launched with a 16 MP camera on the back. If it’s any hint, the Indian variant of the Redmi Note 4 could also launch with a 16 MP main camera.

Other specs remain the same. You get dual SIM, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, Infrared, GPS and FM Radio. The phone is powered by a 4100 mAh battery.
