Camera and Internal Storage

Apple has adopted significant aspects in the photography department by equipping the iPhone 6 with an 8 MP iSight camera. Of course, there is the same sensor that has been used consecutively for the fourth time, but this is not what we are talking about. This sensor at the back is teamed up with dual LED flash with the True Tone hardware that renders accurate color tone, digital image stabilization, faster phase detection auto focus, f/2.2 for capturing more light, ability to capture 43 MP panorama shots and Slo-mo video recording at 120 fps and 240 fps respectively.

On the flip side, the iPhone 6 has a new FaceTime HD front-facer that has an increased aperture to let in 80 percent more light and support for Burst Mode. The FaceTime HD camera can also do single-shot HDR instead of merging data from 3 and more frames together. Apple has also added the ability to create HDR within videos recorded using the front-facing camera.

In terms of storage, the iPhone 6 comes in three different storage options as usual and they are 16 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB. Adhering to the previous rumors, the handset appears to have arrived in 128 GB capacity instead of the 32 GB one. There is no micro SD card slot onboard facilitating expansion storage support.

Processor and Battery

The iPhone 6 incorporates the latest generation Apple A8 chipset that is developed using the 20 nm process. The chipset comes with 64 bit architecture and it is claimed to be 13 percent smaller against the previous generation chipset – Apple A7. According to Apple the new A8 chipset will render 20 percent faster processing power and 50 percent faster graphics performance. It also comes with the M8 coprocessor that will handle the fitness related applications.

While the battery capacity onboard the iPhone 6 remains unknown, it is claimed that this battery will be pumping in a decent backup of 14 hours to the smartphone making it on par or even better than the iPhone 5s.

Display and Features

Apple has given the iPhone 6 a 4.7 inch display that has the Retina HD resolution of 1334×750 pixels and a pixel density of 324 ppi. The handset features a shatter proof glass along with an oleophobic coating to resist fingerprints. This display is claimed to house 185 percent higher pixels than in the previous generation iPhone model.

Based on iOS 8, the iPhone 6 is has standard connectivity aspects with three times faster Wi-Fi, and support to 20 LTE bands. The handset features curved edges that render a seamless experience on swiping and it measures only 6.8 mm in thickness.

Comparison

The iPhone 6 will be a tough challenger to the Android flagship smartphones including Samsung Galaxy S5, Sony Xperia Z2, HTC One M8, Xiaomi Mi4 and others.
