Lava has been giving a tough fight to its compatriots Micromax and Karbonn for a while now by launching some really good value for money devices. It tries bringing better devices at lower price points to gain a share of the market and it looks like the strategy is working in its favour. It plans on launching a new budget handset Lava 3G 354 soon and the device has been listed on the company’s official website.

The Lava 3G 354 will come with a modest 3.5 inch capacitive screen that has a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels and this is the standard in the entry level segment. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and has a 1GHz dual core processor ticking inside it. Lava 3G 354 gets a 256MB RAM which is pretty much the bare essential for even an ultra low cost entry level smartphone. At the back is a 2.0 MP snapper coupled with a VGA front camera.

The internal storage capacity stands at 2GB out of which 1.09GB is user available and the same can be expanded by another 32GB with the help of a microSD card. Its sole purpose was to bring 3G on a budget and it gets 3G, WiFi  802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth for connectivity which is quite good. You’ll get an FM Radio too on the Lava 3G 354. The battery capacity has been rated at 1,400 mAh.

The Lava 3G 354 will come in a single colour only which is white with golden rims and the smartphone looks like it features a good build quality for a budget device. It is 11.8mm in terms of thickness and weighs 103.8 grams. There is a lot of space above and below the screen which could have been reduced. The smartphone is expected to hit the retail shelves for an amount below Rs 5,000.
