YotaPhone with Dual Display to Launch Soon in India via Flipkart

Since quite sometime there have been talks about a dual display smartphone called YotaPhone and now it appears like the Russian vendor might launch the device in India soon. It is also claimed that this device will be made available exclusively via e-commerce giant Flipkart as the retailer accidentally let go of this information via a newsletter.

YotaPhone is an Android based smartphone that comes with a LCD panel at the front and a e-ink display at its rear. The latter is always-on and it can be used to display stocks, weather, calendar appointment, notifications, social media updates and for reading e-books. It can also be used to display a quote, image or something from the LCD panel for viewing later.

As of now, the vendor has launched two models of YotaPhone and the consumers in India will receive the first generation model. It is fitted with a 4.3 inch HD 720p display at the front and a 4.3 inch e-ink display with 640×360 pixel resolution at the back. A 1.7 GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor operates under its hood and it is paired with 2 GB of RAM for swift multi-tasking.

On the storage department, YotaPhone has 32 GB of native storage capacity that is non-expandable. It houses a 13 MP primary camera at its back teamed up with LED flash and there is a 1 MP front-facing selfie camera. Other aspects of the YotaPhone include Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 4G LTE support.


As of now, there is no word regarding the price of the YotaPhone in India, but it is believed to retail between Rs 24,000 and Rs 27,000 in the country.
