Karbonn A4 with Gingerbread, 4 inch Display at Rs. 4800 INR

Few days back, we have seen the Karbonn Mobile, an Indian Telecom Firm, have launched two low-end phones Karbonn A3 and Karbonn A6 at RS. 3600 INR and Rs. 5390 INR respectively and now they have launched another low-end device Karbonn A4 ranging between this two device (Rs. 4800 INR). So again with this device, Karbonn has tried to provide the Android Experience to the user who do not want to invest much but want to have Android Functioning device with them.

This New device from Karbonn seems to be a combination of A3 and A6 and no much innovation added to the device. It Got a same 1 GHz Single Core Processor like A3 and A6 and have inherited most of its feature from A3 like 3 MP with video recording, Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread and a battery of 1400mAh. But it has got a wider display option as compare to A3, same as Karbon A6 i.e. 4 inch with capacitive touch screen and resolution is 480×320 pixels. Camera is featured with 3.2 MP but result is not so good though it has got the Face detection option. The VGA camera is also provided for the video chat and have few other connectivity option including Bluetooth, and Wifi.

  • Processor: 1 GHz Single Core Processor
  • SIM :Dual SIM support.
  • RAM: 256 MB
  • Display Size: 4 inch with capacitive touchscreen and resolution is 480×320 pixels
  • Software Version: Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread
  • Camera: 3 MP with video recording
  • Secondary Camera: VGA camera.
  • Internal Storage: 104MB Internal storage
  • External Storage: up to 32 GB
  • Battery: 1400 mAh.
  • Connectivity: 2G, Bluetooth, WiFi, microSD card Slot and 3.5 mm jack

Conclusion :

The Improved version of Android was something that we were expecting for this device but the other features at this price looks competitive. The battery of 1400mAh can supports 3 hours of talk time and 225 hours of standby time. With this Android Version there are few other good phones available in market like Micromax Bolt A51 which is available for Rs. 4,599. So the competition between the Indian Giant will be interesting. Also since the A3 and A4 both having same Android version but with different Display size, it will be interesting to see which display size the user will prefer.
