Samsung will introduce its next flagship phone Galaxy S5, in India on March 27th 2014. The availability will still be from April 11 as announced at Samsung’s unpack 5 event at MWC, 2014, but we will get to know what Chipset variant Samsung will introduce along with the price details.
Samsung is trying hard to push its latest Galaxy S5 and is keeping the buzz alive with clever marketing prior to its availability. Samsung recently launched a series of hands on videos of Galaxy S5 and the accessories, Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo. Samsung has also launched an Experience App for Galaxy S5, which lets you browse through the interface and features of Galaxy S5 on Note 2.
Samsung Galaxy S5 packs the best processor available till date, the Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AC with 4 cores clocked at 2.5 GHz and all other chipset components like GPU receiving significant performance boost. Going by Samsung’s track record, Samsung might not present this chipset in Indian version of Galaxy S5.
Samsung might pack in its new Exynos processor Exynos 5422 Octa which is also pretty interesting on paper, especially if Samsung plans to activate Heterogeneous Multi Processing (HMP) ability (supported on chipset). The Exynos 5422 Octa features 4 Cortex A15 cores, now clocked at 2.1 GHz and the remaining 4 Cortex A7 cores can be clocked up to 1.5 GHz.
Samsung has focused on improving complete android experience with this smartphone. The 16 MP camera performed quite good in our initial time with the device. The display is 5 Inches in size and sports full HD resolution. Samsung has definitely improved on color reproduction and brightness in this new IPS LCD display panel.
Other hardware includes 2 GB RAM, 16 GB expandable internal storage, 2.1 MP front facing camera, Android 4.4.2 KitKat, 2800 mAh battery (with an aggressive battery saver mode), IP67 Water and dust resistance, Infra red LED and TV remot, S Health, fingerprint sensor, heart rate sensor pedometer and several other UI changes in Touch Wiz.
