At the launch event of Gionee Elife S5.5 couple of days back, Gionee discussed its sales target for the year ahead and that included selling 35 million globally and 6 million devices in India. Gionee also aims to become the number 2 selling smartphone in India in the next 2 years. To achieve this target Gionee will launch another smartphone in Elife E series in Q3 2014 priced under 20,000 INR, as mentioned by William Lu, President of Gionee in an exclusive interview with GadgetsToUse.
Gionee Elife S series focuses on style and Sleek design, where as the Elife E series focuses on providing world class Camera hardware to distinguish itself from the completion. Last two smartphones in Elife E series were Gionee Elife E7 and Gionee Elife E6.
Both of these smartphones source their camera module from Sony and impressed us with their camera performance and display quality. We can expect the next Elife E series phone to feature mediatek Octa core processor and Gionee also confirmed that the display will be 5 inches in size.
There is still several months left for this to be a reality and a lot can change in a month when we are talking about fiercely competitive and evolving smartphone market. We will update this article with Video Interview soon. William Lu also talks about upcoming wearable and flexible display smartphone which Gionee are working on for Indian market.
