At the launch event today, Intex launched another variant of Intex Aqua i5, dubbed as Intex Aqua i5 HD with revamped hardware and better display resolution. Intex also announced that it will be launching several Android Kitkat based a Windows Phone based smartphone in coming weeks.
Talking about Intex Aqua i5HD, it has the same 5 inch display with 720p HD resolution. Display also has OGS technology for a better viewing experience. The resolution has been bumped up to HD from qHD in Aqua i5.
The device also houses a 1.3 GHz Quad core chipset.We are not yet certain if the processor used is MT6582 which is the most popular chipset these days among budget MediaTek Quad cores. The RAM capacity is 1 GB and the inbuilt storage is 4 GB. The internal storage is also expandable to 32 GB using MicroSD support.
The primary autofocus camera used has a 13 MP sensor, something which isn’t quite common in budget quad core smartphones of present generation. A front 5 MP shooter is also present for video calling.
The 8.5 mm thick body houses a 2000 mAh battery which should last one day with moderate usage. Other features include Enviornment light sensor, Magnetic sensor, Proximity Sensor and GSensor.
Connectivity features include Bluetooth 4.0 and 3G. Like always Intex has provided with a few preloaded apps, games and gesture features(Voice screen unlock, screen face unlock, etc)
Overall, Intex Aqua i5HD stands out feature is the 13 MP camera, which is not very common these days with MT6582 budget quad core smartphones due to chipset limitations. Rest of the specifications are similar to what everyone else is offering. You can buy Intex Aqua i5 HD for Rs. 9,990.

Next from Intex – Upcoming Smartphones
At the press event in New Delhi, India, Intex Also announced its aim to capture 7 percent of the market share. To achieve this target, Intex will soon launch 4 to 5 Android KitKat Smartphones starting from Next Month. The Company will also launch a Windows Phone operating system based device in Q3 2014. That’s not all. Intex will also launch Intex Aqua i5 Mini next month in India. Those are lot of incoming phones, but Intex has been on a launch spree in the later part of 2013 as well. After laying low for a few weeks, its all set for the next round.
