The second major smartphone manufacturer in India, Micromax has announced the new CEO of the firm as Vineet Taneja who was the former Country Head of IT and Mobile Business of Samsung India. This move of the India based vendor makes it clear that the firm is planning to rope in the best talent in the industry to strengthen their organization and guide them to the next stage of growth.
It has claimed that the newly appointed CEO will be responsible in focusing on strengthening the firm presence in the market and organizational potentials and building global affiliations and strategic alliances.
As per the recent study of CyberMedia Research, Samsung dominates the Indian smartphone segment with 42% market share, whereas Micromax stands at the second position with a market share of 17.5% followed by Karbonn owning 5.2%. Lately, Micromax is focusing highly in rolling out solid devices that are competitively priced to grab the attention of the price conscious consumer base. Also, the firm made a unique choice by roping in Hollywood celebrity Hugh Jackman as its brand ambassador rather than signing deals with cricketers and Bollywood stars that is conventional.
