OnePlus today launched its flagship Smartphone in India for 21,999 INR. Initially the One will be available only in 64 GB variant. OnePlus is testing waters with first 1000 units and according to what Carl Pei told GadgetsToUse, OnePlus One 16 GB variant will also arrive in India sometime later priced under 20,000 INR.
OnePlus already enjoys a solid fan base in India, even before commencing its India operations. Since Indian Market is highly cost sensitive, a even lower priced OnePlus variant definitely has its place in India. However, the difference in price won’t be much.
OnePlus One features a 5.5 Inch Full HD JDI display powered by 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 chipset backed by 3 GB RAM. Imaging hardware includes 13 MP Rear/ 5 MP front Snapper, while other features include 3100 mAh battery, NFC, internal GPS antenna + GLONASS, Digital Compass and Tri-microphone with noise cancellation.
OnePlus partner Cyanogen Inc, recently dropped a Bomb by going exclusive with Micromax YU brand in India. The upcoming brand will be a direct competitor of both OnePlus One and Xiaomi in India.
Xiaomi is presently selling Redmi Note and Redmi Note 4G in India, and the next to arrive is Xiaomi Mi4. Xiaomi will most likely launch the 16 GB Xiaomi Mi4 variant in India for a very aggressive price and this is what OnePlus One will be primarily pitched against in India.
