Last month, AOC, the renowned manufacturer of LED and LCD displays announced that it will be entering the smartphone market segment soon with the launch of smartphones and tablets. Going by the same, the firm has announced a new smartphone called AOC M601 that carries a price tag of Rs 8,390 and is available via Amazon.
On the specifications front, the AOC M601 is given a 6 inch qHD display with a resolution of 960×540 pixels that is too low for a large screen. Powering this smartphone is a 1.3 GHz dual core processor teamed up with a mere 512 MB of RAM. The AOC offering packs 8 GB of native storage space that can be extended externally by another 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card.
At the back of the AOC M601 smartphone, there is a 5 MP primary camera with LED flash for enhanced photography. There is a front facing VGA selfie snapper that will facilitate in basic video calling. Connectivity aspects of the AOC M601 include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. A 2,100 mAh battery powers the smartphone providing acceptable hours of backup to it.
Fueled by Android 4.4 KitKat, the AOC M601 smartphone supports regional language input with Adaptxt Keyboard and free F-Secure Antivirus and Anti-theft worth Rs 1,000 for a year. Also, users can download movies worth Rs 2,000 via Your Movies app for 60 days, Music downloads and streaming using Hungama worth Rs 1,000 and Free Reading worth Rs 1,000 and other freebies.
