A bigger battery is always appreciated in budget devices. Acting on same sentiments, Lava has unveiled Lava Iris Fuel 20 with a massive 4400 mAh battery, for a very affordable price of 5,399 INR. The other hardware is not as impressive, but it’s perhaps the only phone to offer as much battery juice in entry level segment.

The display is 5 Inches in size and holds 854 x 480 pixel FWVGA resolution, fired by 1.3 GHz dual core processor with 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal storage. There are numerous other smartphones in the same price bracket offering 1 GB RAM, quad core chipset and 8 GB storage and that’s the compromise you make for some extra longevity.

Imaging hardware includes a 5 MP rear camera with LED flash, paired with equally uninteresting VGA front camera for selfies. There is no option for 3G either to fully utilize the 4400 mAh battery. Other features include 2G (EDGE), WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and MicroSD support.

Looks like Lava is trying to push yesteryear hardware behind the pomp of a larger battery. If you are willing to spend some more money, some other big battery options include Intex Aqua Power HD, Celkon Millennia Epic Q550, Xiaomi Redmi Note and Gionee Marathon M3 (Leads with 5000 mAh battery).
