LG Spirit Quick Review, Price and Comparison

LG announced the mid range smartphone LG Spirit before the MWC 2015 tech show. Now, it appears like the device will soon be launching in the Indian market for a pricing of Rs 13,690 as tipped by the entrusted retailer Mahesh Telecom. If you are interested in the mid ranger, here is a quick review to decide on it based on its capabilities.

Camera and Internal Storage

LG Spirit boasts of an 8 MP main camera with LED flash at its back. There is a 1 MP selfie snapper at the front for basic selfies and video conferencing sessions. There are better imaging aspects in smartphones priced at much lower price brackets making this one a not so good offering for photography.

Internal storage is 8 GB along with the option to expand it externally using a micro SD slot. This is standard in the mid range smartphone market segment, but there are devices with 16 GB storage as well.

Processor and Battery

The LG Spirit smartphone is powered by 1.3 GHz quad core chipset of unspecified processor aided by 1 GB RAM. Though chipset that is used in this device remains unknown, we can expect it to render moderate performance without any hiccups to meet the demands of entry level smartphone users.

The battery capacity is 2,100 mAh that seems to be average in comparison to its competitors. Though the backup that this battery can render remains unknown, we can expect only a moderate life from the battery.

Display and Other Features

The LG smartphone boasts of a 4.7 inch HD display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. This screen is on par with the expectations of mid range users, and it is average with 294 ppi pixel density. We can expect an average performance with decent brightness and clarity from the panel for basic tasks.

Software running in the LG Spirit is Android 5.0 Lollipop that is appealing. The handset is packed with features such as Dual SIM functionality, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB, GPS and 3G.


The LG Spirit will be a challenger to the Moto G Gen 2, Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo Dual, Lenovo S850 and Micromax Canvas Hue.

The LG Spirit being a mid range smartphone is priced relatively higher than the other offerings in the market. There are better devices from other vendors with capable feature at the same pricing. Eventually, the smartphone does not become a deal breaker with its moderate specifications.
