Gionee’s expertise in ultra slim devices is well renowned, and this time the Chinese manufacturer is aiming higher with its flagship Elife S7, which was today unleashed in India for 24,999 INR.
The Gionee Elife S7 follows a design first approach and is meticulously crafted from aviation grade Aluminum and includes stainless steel sheet with nano-molding plastic, which makes it very durable, in spite of its 5.5 mm slim profile. Side edges have a grooved design (U shaped skeleton) which Gionee says is inspired from railway tracks and imparts similar kind of strength to Elife S7. Point being, it won’t bend in your pockets and can handle more than its share of drops.
As an improvement over Elife S5.5 Gionee has added several heat radiators and cooling areas to prevent it from getting unbearable hot over extended period of usage. Of course, the efficiency of the same will be known only after a period of usage.
The second area Elife S7 focuses on is power consumption. Gionee has managed to squeeze in a dense 2750 mAh battery inside and claims that software optimizations and several other power saving features will help enhance battery back up by 33 percent and allow the phone to go full two days on single charge. The phone can also offer 33 hours of standby time only on 10 percent charge.

The 5.2 Inch AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080p will help with the cause two, if you apply a power saving dark theme. Bezels are very narrow (79.1 percent screen to body ratio) and Gorilla Glass 3 is layered on top for some added protection.
Chipset is Snapdragon 615 challenger MediaTek Octa Core MT6752 64 bit Clocked at 1.7 GHz. The core configuration is same as Snapdragon 615 ( 4 X Cortex A53 at 1.7 GHz + 4 X Cortex A53 at 1.3 GHz). The chipset is further aided by 2 GB RAM, Mali T760 GPU and 16 GB non-expandable storage.

Gionee has worked hard to integrate a 13 MP rear sensor without any visible camera bump. You can record 1080p videos from rear camera and can capture detailed selfies from 8 MP front camera.
Other features include Dual SIM connectivity, 4G LTE, Android 5.0 Lollipop based Amigo UI, USB OTG, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi and GPS.
