Taiwanese multinational, HTC is trying to get back its position in the market. Today, the company has launched a total of seven phones in India. This list of seven includes HTC One X9, which was announced in December 2015. The phone will be available in two colors namely Carbon Grey and Topaz Gold and the prize of the phone is fixed at Rs. 25,990. We did a hands on review of the device at the launch event, here’s the first impression about the device.

Physical Overview
HTC One X9 has a big 5.5 inch display with 70% screen to body ratio and dual front facing speakers. Its dimensions are 153.9 x 75.9 x 8 mm and it weighs around 170 grams. The phone is available in Carbon Grey and Topaz Gold colors. It has nicely curved smooth edges with a premium metallic finish. It has a metal body and the big sized phone can be a little difficult to handle with one hand. Here’s what it looks from all the angles.
On the top a speaker grill, dual front facing speakers, front camera.
On the botton three capacitive buttons that are back lit.
On the right side volume rocker, power key and SIM tray.
On the bottom is the USB type c port.
HTC One X9 User Interface
The HTC One X9 comes with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with HTC sense UI. HTC has improved the latest version of the Sense UI, it is now easier to use and has become smarter. It now has nice customization options including thousands of themes, freestyle layout that allows you to place each icon, widget and stickers to the place you wish to.
Moreover, the new Sense UI does not occupy much RAM and storage like the earlier one.
HTC One X9 Display Overview
The HTC One X9 comes with a big 5.5 inch Full HD 1080p super LCD display, with a screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and the pixel density at 401 PPI. The display is protected by Curve edge Gorilla Glass protection. The display comes with color personalization option and meets the expectations we have from HTC. Big 5.5 inch display is more than enough to have a nice engrossing experience but it may be a disadvantage also because it cannot be easily handled with one hand.
Camera Overview
HTC One X9 is equipped with a 13-megapixel Auto-focus camera with 1.12 μm pixels, ƒ/2.0 aperture and 74.8° wide angle. The Camera is powered with BSI sensor, Optical image stabilisation (OIS), dual tone LED flash, Selfie timer up to 10 seconds and Face detection. Volume button can be used as the shutter button and also to zoom.
The front camera is a 5MP fixed focus shooter with 1.12 μm pixels, f/2.8 aperture and 65° wide angle.
Competition
HTC One X9 is already available in the international markets, and it will be available in India very soon. The phone will have to compete with its own HTC one A9, Samsung galaxy S6 and Galaxy A8 and LG G4 among others.
Conclusion
HTC One X9 comes with a metallic design, HTC BoomSound speaker with Dolby Audio, nice camera with OIS, 3000mAH battery for whole day and a 5.5 inch display. The phone will be available in Indian markets pretty soon let’s see how it performs.
