Since every other smartphone manufacturer is gearing up to release their flagship smartphone launch in upcoming months, Xiaomi does not want to be left behind. The company is expected to launch their new flagship device, Xiaomi Mi 6 around the end of the month. However the launch event will happen in China instead of MWC 2017, Barcelona. Xiaomi has introduced some really interesting and innovative devices like Mi 5S, Mi 5S Plus, Mi Mix, and Mi Note 2 in last few months, so expectations are high from Mi 6.
Most probably the company may go for regular flat display panel for Mi 6 unlike the curved display which we have seen on Mi Note 2. Mi 6 is expected to launch in two variants, standard variant and a premium variant. But again nothing is official now so things may get changed by the official announcement.
Xiaomi Mi 6 Specifications
The Mi 6 will be sporting a 5.2 inch display with full-HD (1080p) resolution in the standard variant and quad-HD (1440p) resolution in the premium variant. The device may either sport a Snapdragon 821 chip-set or a Snapdragon 835 chip-set. Both will be having 4GB of RAM and 32GB of on-board storage on standard variant and 64GB on premium variant.
Camera optics of of Mi 6 includes a 12MP Sony IMX386 sensor with OIS on the rear and a 8MP IMX268 with 5P lens and f/2.0 aperture camera on the front. Both will be running on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat update with the upcoming MIUI 9 skin on top.
Mi 6 will be sporting a Ceramic body construction just like we have seen on few earlier MI devices. It is also expected that the premium variant of Mi 6 will be a Google Daydream ready device. It will be supporting all the Virtual Reality apps and features.
Launch Date and Availability
There is no official confirmation on the launch date from the company yet but it is expected to get launched in upcoming weeks. Talking about availability, it will be available in China as soon as it gets launched however it may take a while to reach Indian markets.
