Asus Zenfone 3 Series Gets VoLTE Support for Reliance Jio in India

Asus has finally started to update it’s Zenfone 3 smartphone line-up with VoLTE support. The company has already begun to roll out the new feature through an Over the Air (OTA) update. Almost all of the Zenfone 3 Series and a few other Asus handsets are receiving its much-awaited update. This is certainly good news for the Reliance Jio users.

A total of seven smartphones from the Zenfone 3 family is getting the VoLTE support. Below are the name and model number of all those devices.

  • Asus Zenfone 3 Deluxe [5.7-inch] (ZS570KL)
  • Asus Zenfone 3 [5.2-inch] (ZE520KL)
  • Asus Zenfone 3 [5.5-inch] (ZE552KL)
  • Asus Zenfone 3 Laser (ZC551KL)
  • Asus Zenfone 3 Max [5.2-inch] (ZC520TL)
  • Asus Zenfone 3 Max [5.5-inch] (ZC553KL)
  • Asus Zenfone 3S Max [5.2-inch] (ZC521TL)

In addition to these, some older Asus smartphones have also got VoLTE support. The devices are:

  • Asus Zenfone Max (ZC550KL)
  • Asus Zenfone 2 Laser (ZE550KL)
  • Asus Zenfone Go 5.0 LTE (ZB500KL)

Furthermore, two other Asus smartphones are going to get the VoLTE update soon. Those are Zenfone Selfie (ZD551KL) and Zenfone 3 Ultra (ZU680KL).

This comes as a relief to the customers who are using Reliance Jio. Now, they do not need to use the Jio4GVoice application to make phone calls from their Jio SIMs. This means better call quality, enhanced battery saving, and lag-free user experience. The Jio4GVoice offers inconsistent call quality and is quite heavy on the battery and the hardware.

The OTA update has already started to roll out for all the devices mentioned above. If you still haven’t got the firmware update notification, please go to the updater app or the update option in the settings and perform a manual search.
