Chinese manufacturer Gionee had recently launched Gionee A1 in India. The device has been available for pre-order from 31st March. Today the company has claimed that it has received pre-orders for 76,682 units worth Rs 150 crores in ten days. The device is priced at Rs. 19,999.
Speaking to PTI, Arvind R Vohra CEO of Gionee India said
“Gionee A1 is our first flagship of the year and we have received as many as 74,682 units pre-orders worth around Rs. 150 crores in the first ten days, till April 9, 2017. The pre-booking figures, [are] the highest for any phone in the Rs. 8,000-25,000 range,”
Gionee went on all out marketing campaign blitz to promulgate Gionee A1. The company has been touting about the selfie camera and large battery on the phone. Moreover, It has been running several contests and campaigns on social media platforms to lure customers.
By participating Selfiestan contest on Facebook, you will stand a chance to win Gionee A1 or IPL tickets. The company is also sponsoring IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders. It roped in Alia Bhatt as a brand ambassador.

Gionee A1 Specifications
The Gionee A1 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with the company’s custom UI Amigo OS 4.0 skinned on top. The device comes with a metal back with plastic borders on the top and bottom. The device comes with a fingerprint sensor.
The Gionee A1 features a 5.5 inch full HD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The device comes with a pixel density of ~401 PPI. It comes with a 2.5D curved display. To protect the display, Gionee has used Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the device.
The Gionee A1 is powered by a 2.0 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6755 Helio P10 processor clubbed with Mali-T860MP2 GPU. The device comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The storage on the device can be further expanded up to 256 GB via microSD card.

Coming to the camera department, the Gionee A1 features a 13 MP primary camera with phase detection autofocus, LED flash and f/2.0 aperture. The camera comes with features such as geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection and HDR. Coming to the main highlight of the device, the Gionee A1 features a 16 MP selfie camera on the front. The camera comes with f/2.0 aperture.
It is powered by a non-removable Li-Ion 4,010 mAh battery and comes with Fast Charge support. Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, FM Radio and microUSB 2.0.
