OnePlus is all set to launch a new color option for its flagship OnePlus 5. The Chinese smartphone maker has shared an image through its official social media accounts. The new color is supposedly the Mint Gold, which was not the part of the original line-up.
OnePlus 5 was launched last month in two color options – Midnight Black and Slate Grey. OnePlus 5 features a dual camera setup at its rear with 16MP and 20MP sensors, which is one of the highlights of the flagship phone.
OnePlus, on its official Facebook page shared an image on Wednesday with caption ‘5omething new coming up! Can you guess what it is?’. It hints towards launching OnePlus 5 in some new tint.
The shared image which is showing both the OnePlus color variants along with a new colorless frame of OnePlus 5, which clearly indicates that the company is planning to add another color option to the OnePlus 5 line-up.
Earlier, soon after the OnePlus 5 official launch, TENAA, the Chinese telecommunication certification website revealed that OnePlus 5 will come in three colors. As per its report, OnePlus 5 showed up in three colors including Mint Gold with the existing Black and Grey variant. Something similar had happened with the OnePlus 3T also. The previous flagship of the company came with a soft gold variant later in 2016 after its launch.
To recall the specifications, the flagship from OnePlus sports a 5.5-inch AMOLED display. The phone and is powered by Snapdragon 835 chipset which is coupled with either 6GB or 8GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB internal storage. The phone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat based on OxygenOS which has been receiving constant updates.
The OnePlus 5 with 6GB/64 GB storage is priced at Rs. 32,999 while 8GB/128GB variant is priced at Rs. 37,999 in India. The OnePlus 5 is exclusive to the OnePlus online store and Amazon India. The phone is currently in-stock with both the Midnight Black and Slate Grey color options.
The name of the upcoming color may be different at the time of launch. Also, there’s no information on the availability front of the OnePlus 5 with a new hue. If we talk about pricing, it is expected there will be no price change.
