Gionee had unveiled eight smartphones including six new phones, namely, the Gionee S11, S11s, S11 Lite (F6), M7 Plus, M7 mini and F205 at a global event in China. The other two phones being the M7 and M7 Power that were introduced back in September.
All these phones are part of Gionee’s Winter 2017 line-up, with S11s being the flagship. While the smartphones differ in many ways including the price, they all have one common feature, they come with full-screen displays and minimal bezels.
To recall, Gionee had scheduled the November 26 event to launch record eight phones in one go. However, two of these phones Gionee M7 and M7 Power were already launched in China. The M7 Power was launched in India as well earlier this month. Now, as per the company, all these phones will be sold worldwide.
The flagship Gionee S11s comes with four cameras that include a 20MP + 8MP fixed-focus dual front camera setup and 16MP + 8MP auto-focus dual camera rear cameras along with customized photo processor DSP for enhanced HDR Effect and hardware-level bokeh. The S11 also features a 16MP + 8MP dual front cameras and 16MP + 5MP dual rear cameras and real-time hardware-level bokeh effect. The S11S has The M7 Plus is the flagship model and looks the part. It comes with a lather back paired to a metal frame for rigidity.
Gionee M7 Plus Specifications
The Gionee M7 Power is a premium phone with leather and metal back. It sports a 6.43 inch (2160 × 1080 pixels) 18:9 FHD+ FullView AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display. Dimension wise it measures 166.5 × 81.6 × 8.7 mm and weighs 241g.
Powering the phone is an octa-core Snapdragon 660 processor with Adreno 512 GPU. It packs 6GB RAM, and 64GB or 128GB internal storage, expandable up to 256GB with microSD card. The phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Amigo OS 5.0.
In the camera department, there is a dual rear camera setup with a 16MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, dual-tone LED flash and an 8MP secondary camera. On the front, there is an 8MP camera.
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4 + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS + GLONASS, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and FM Radio. It packs 5000mAh battery with fast charging and wireless charging support.
Gionee S11s Specifications
The flagship S11s features a 6.01-inch (2160 × 1080 pixels) FHD+ FullView AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Dimensions wise it measure 153.75 × 72.6 × 7.85 mm and weighs 141g.
The phone is powered by a 2.3GHz Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P30 processor with ARM Mali-G71 MP2 GPU. It packs 6GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB with microSD card. The phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Amigo OS 5.0 on top.
For imaging, there is a dual rear camera setup with a 16MP primary camera, dual-tone LED flash and an 8MP secondary camera. On the front, there is another dual camera setup with 20MP+8MP cameras. Below the rear camera setup, there is a fingerprint sensor.
Connectivity options include a 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4 + 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS + GLONASS. It has a 3,600mAh built-in battery.
Gionee S11 Specifications
The Gionee S11 packs a 5.99-inch FHD+ (2160 × 1080 pixels) FullView 2.5D curved glass IPS display. Dimension wise it measures 159.5 x 77.7 x 7.8 mm and weighs 165g. It runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Amigo OS 5.0.
It is powered by a 2.5GHz Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P23 16nm processor with Mali G71 MP2 GPU. Memory wise it packs 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB with microSD card.
Camera wise, it also has a dual rear camera setup with a 16MP primary rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and an 8MP secondary camera. Up front, there is a 16MP primary camera and a 5MP secondary camera.
Connectivity options on the device include a 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS + GLONASS. It houses a 3,410mAh built-in battery.
Gionee S11 Lite (F6) Specifications
5.7-inch (1440 x 720 pixels) HD+ 18:9 FullView 2.5D curved glass display, 82.2% screen-to-body ratio. The phone measures 153.75 × 72.6 × 7.85 mm and weighs 141g. The phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Amigo OS 5.0.
In the hardware section, it is powered by a 1.4GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 430 Mobile Platform with Adreno 505 GPU. It packs 3GB or 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage which is expandable up to 256GB with microSD card.
The device sports a dual rear camera setup with a 13MP primary camera with dual-tone LED flash and a 2MP secondary camera. On the front, there is a 16MP sensor on S11 Lite or an 8MP on F6. Below the rear camera, there is a Fingerprint sensor.
Connectivity options include 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS. It packs a 3030mAh (typical) or 2,970mAh (minimum) built-in battery.
Gionee F205 Specifications
The cheapest model from Gionee also features a full-screen display with 5.45-inch (1440 x 720 pixels) HD+ 2.5D curved glass panel. The phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Amigo OS 5.0. Camera wise, it sports an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera.
The phone is powered by a 1.5GHz Quad-Core MediaTek MT6739 64-bit processor with PowerVR Rogue GE8100 GPU. The phone packs 2GB RAM, and 16GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB with microSD.
Connectivity options include 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS. It packs 2670mAh battery
Gionee M7 Mini Specifications
The M7 mini sports a 5.5-inch (1440 x 720 pixels) HD+ 18:9 FullView 2.5D curved glass display. It measures 144.7 x 69.8 x 8.5 mm and weighs 170g.
The phone is powered by a 1.4GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 425 processor with 500MHz Adreno 308 GPU. Memory wise it packs 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 256GB with microSD.
The phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Amigo OS 5.0. For imaging, it has an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and 8MP front-facing camera.
On the connectivity front, it has 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS. It packs 4000mAh battery.
Price and Availability
If we talk about pricing, the Gionee M7 Plus is priced the highest at CNY 4,399 (roughly Rs 43,000). The flagship Gionee S11s is priced at CNY 3,299 (roughly Rs 32,300). The Gionee S11 costs CNY 1,799 (Rs 17,600 approx.) while the S11 Lite or Gionee F6 is priced at CNY 1,299 (roughly Rs 12,700).
The Gionee M7 Mini is priced at CNY 1,399 (roughly Rs 13,700). And the Gionee F 205 is the cheapest among all and priced at CNY 999 (roughly Rs 9,700). The phone will be made available from late December 2017.
