Xiaomi has launched the MIUI Global Beta ROM version 8.1.18 with Android 8.0 Oreo for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. With this update, the phone will get new features that come with the latest Android. Talking about the optimizations, the phone now gets optimized internal storage management.

Also, now you get full-screen gestures to replace navigation bar, which hints at iPhone X-like gesture controls. Battery life is also optimized and a camera UI fix is also there with this update. From Android Oreo, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 gets revamped settings and gallery.

You can upgrade to Android 8.0 Oreo on your Mi Mix 2 by downloading the Recovery ROM here and flashing it using the Updater app.

Coming to specifications, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 comes with a ceramic build which makes it premium, durable, as well as shiny. The device sports a 5.99-inch full HD+ resolution display. This panel comes with curved edges and an 18:9 aspect ratio.

In terms of optics, the phone features a 12MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 18K gold plated rim around it. A 5MP front-facing camera is given at the chin of the phone so you have to turn the device upside-down to take images.

For hardware, the phone comes with a Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with an Adreno 540 GPU. This combination is complemented with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 currently runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with MIUI 9 out-of-the-box, however, you can get Android 8.0 Oreo beta build now.
