Vivo V9 launched in India: Price, specifications and availability

Vivo V9 has been launched in India at an event in Mumbai today. The Vivo V9 is the latest addition in the V series and successor to last year’s V7. The Vivo V9 which comes with a big FHD+ 19:9 notch display is priced at Rs. 22,990 in India and it will be available from April 2 in retail stores across the country.

Vivo had launched the phone earlier in Thailand and Philippines. Apart from its trendy notch display, the other highlight features of the V9 are Snapdragon 626 chipset, Android 8.1 Oreo, 16MP+5MP dual rear cameras and a 24MP front camera with A.I features.

Vivo V9 Specifications

Starting with the build, the Vivo V9 sports has a metal and glass design. The display on V9 is a 6.3-inch FHD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) 2.5D glass IPS panel. Moreover, the display comes with 19:9 aspect ratio and 90% screen to body ratio which means minimum bezels on each side along with a notch at the top. The phone measures 154.81 x 75.03 x 7.89mm and weighs 150g.

In terms of performance, the Vivo V9 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor with Adreno 506 GPU. It comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal memory which is expandable up to 256GB with microSD card.


Coming to the camera, the V9 sports a dual rear camera setup with a 16MP primary sensor with LED flash, and a secondary 5MP sensor for depth effects. Up front, there is a 24MP selfie camera with soft LED flash for a perfect image even in low-light. The front camera also features AI capabilities and also lets you add AR Stickers to pictures.

Connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS. The Vivo V9 comes with a 3,260mAh battery and runs on Funtouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The phone sports a back mounted fingerprint sensor and also comes with face unlock feature.

The Vivo V9 price in India starts at Rs. 22,990. The phone comes in Black and Gold color options and is available for pre-order from today. The phone will go on sale from April 2 via offline as well as online channels.
