Vivo is all set to roll out the Oreo update to some of its smartphone models. These smartphones are from the X series which will get the Android 8.0 Oreo update. The seven smartphones include the Vivo X20, Vivo X20 Plus, Vivo X9s, Vivo X9s Plus, Vivo XPlay 6, Vivo X9 and Vivo X9 Plus. Vivo is going to provide this Android Oreo update with its FuntouchOS layered on top.
Before the final release of the Funtouch OS based on Android Oreo, Vivo is going to provide the beta version for testing purpose, according to the reports from Vivo’s Chinese forums. The details of the beta release will also be available through Vivo’s forums.
The beta update will be provided as an OTA (Over The Air) update to all the testers. To know about the availability of this new update, keep checking for the system updates under Settings > About Phone.
There is not much we know about the features which Vivo is going to add to its latest Funtouch OS based on Android 8.0 Oreo. However, the update will bring Android 8.0 Oreo features like smart autofill, PIP mode, notifications dots and much more.
The eligible models for the Android Oreo update, the Vivo X20, Vivo X20 Plus, Vivo X9s and Vivo X9s Plus are currently running on Android 7.1 Nougat. The Vivo XPlay6, Vivo X9, and Vivo X9 Plus are still running the Android 6.0 Marshmallow version.
These smartphones were launched back in November, and finally, they are getting the Android 8.0 Oreo update. The update will be provided to these smartphones in April, and as soon as we get any information about the Beta release, we will update you as well.
