Orkut launches Hello social networking app in India

Orkut Buyukkokten, who is the founder of one of the first social networking website, Orkut.com and CEO of Hello Network, Inc. has launched Hello social networking app in India. The new app has been built for the new mobile generation to bring them all together according to their interests to create meaningful, positive, sustained and authentic social engagement.

Orkut Buyukkokten said on the launch of the Hello app in India, “Today’s online networks force people to treat each other totally differently from how they would behave face-to-face. Technology should help us become more understanding, more optimistic, kinder and better people.”

He further added, “We designed hello to help you make connections in the real world. It’s a social network built on loves not likes, and I’m delighted to say hello to India once again.”

Some features of the Hello app are, it helps you to connect with people around you including your neighborhood. It has communities to join which are based on your interests and you can be a part of the conversation. You can discover new friends according to the things you love. You can create and share your ideas and experience to build connections.


The app automatically changes your personals according to your interests change. Orkut was founded by Orkut Buyukkokten with a group of ex-Google engineers. Orkut social networking website was first launched on January 24, 2004, and after 10 years on September 30, 2014, Google shut it down. Hello is an app only network, it doesn’t have any web portal and is available for free on the Google Play Store.
