After being announced at MWC this year, Asus Zenfone 5Z finally goes on sale in Europe and it is the cheapest smartphone with Snapdragon 845 chipset. With a starting price of €499 in Europe, the ASUS Zenfone 5Z is cheaper than the OnePlus 6.
ASUS Zenfone 5Z was announced back in February with the notched display and Snapdragon 845 SoC. Starting today, it goes on sale in France and Italy and becomes the cheapest Snapdragon 845 phone in Europe. Zenfone 5Z 6GB variant is priced at 499 Euros (Rs. 39,785 approx.) which is cheaper than the OnePlus 6 (priced at $519) with the same RAM.

The Asus Zenfone 5Z 6GB variant is priced at 499 Euros (Rs. 39,785 approx.) while the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant is priced at 599 Euros (Rs. 47,770 approx.). It is available only in France.
Moreover, ASUS is also offering a €50 cashback when you purchase the phone between now and July 15. This reduces the Zenfone 5 price at €449 which becomes €70 cheaper than the OnePlus 6 and also cheaper than the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S which is priced at €499 in Italy. You also get €50 off on the 8GB RAM + 256GB model which lowers its price to €549.
Asus Zenfone 5Z Specifications
The ASUS Zenfone 5Z sports a 6.2 inch IPS LCD display with an FHD+ (2280 x 1080 pixels) resolution. It has a 19:9 aspect ratio and a whopping 90% screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood, the smartphone gets Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage.
In terms of optics, the Zenfone 5Z comes with a 12MP Sony IMX363 primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and LED flash, along with a secondary 120-degree wide angle lens. For selfies, there is an 8MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture, portrait mode, night HDR. The cameras also feature optical image stabilization method.
The Zenfone 5Z features for connectivity are 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, USB Type-C, and 3.5mm headphone jack. It comes with 3300 mAh battery with ASUS BoostMaster fast charging and AI charging.
There is no word on its availability in India as of now, however, it could also be the most affordable flagship device if and when it launches in India.
