MediaTek has introduced a new chipset dubbed as Helio P70 today. The new P70 chip is based on 12nm TSMC FinFET technology and successor to the Helio P60 that was unveiled at MWC earlier this year. It comes with deep power efficiency improvements, feature upgrades, and clock-speed enhancements over Helio P60.
Helio P70 Features
The new MediaTek Helio P70 is an octa-core processor. It comes with a slightly overclocked CPUs. There are four ARM Cortex-A73 CPUs clocked at 2.1 GHz and four ARM Cortex-A53 CPUs at 2.0 GHz in a big.LITTLE configuration, same as the P60. It has ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU operating at up to 900 MHz that promises 13% performance improvement compared to the P60.
The P70 has support for 20:9 displays at Full HD+ resolution. It also has Dual 4G VoLTE support. While gaming, the P70 provides 7% better DOU and up to 35% lower power compared to the P60. In terms of camera, it supports max camera ISP at 32MP single or 24MP+16MP dual camera support. The max video capture resolution support is 3840 x 2160 pixels. It comes with improved deep-learning facial detection with up to 90% accuracy.

The Helio P70 is currently in production. It is expected to be available in smartphones by November.
