Xiaomi Mi 9 SE mid-range phone launched with Snapdragon 712 and 48MP sensor

Xiaomi also launched the Mi 9 SE alongside the Mi 9 in China. The mid-range phone comes with features like a Super AMOLED notch display with an in-display fingerprint sensor and a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor.

The new Mi 9 SE is also the world’s first smartphone to get the latest Snapdragon 712 processor. Xiaomi’s new phone comes with a gradient holographic back panel. The Mi 9 SE also supports 18W fast charging, but it doesn’t support wireless charging just like Mi 9.

Xiaomi Mi 9 SE Specifications

The Xiaomi Mi 9 SE sports a 5.97-inch Full HD+ (1080 × 2280 pixels) Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. It has a waterdrop notch and sports a 90.4% screen-to-body ratio. It also has the same in-display fingerprint sensor as Mi 9.

Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 712 10nm processor. It is packed with 6GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. The smartphone runs Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 on top.


In the camera department, it also comes with a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with 0.8μm pixel size, f/1.75 aperture, and LED flash. But it has an 8MP depth sensor and a 13MP ultra wide-angle lens. The phone has retains the 20MP front front-facing camera.

Connectivity features it supports are Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band (2×2 MU-MIMO), Bluetooth 5, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, NFC, and USB Type-C. It is powered by a 3070mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.

Price, availability

The Xiaomi Mi 9 SE price starts at 1,999 yuan (Rs. 21,150 approx.) for the 6GB/64GB version. The 128GB storage version is priced at 2,299 yuan (Rs. 24,330 approx.). The Mi 9 SE sale will start in China from 1st of March.
