Realme 3 Pro was launched in India today. The smartphone comes with several upgraded features like improved dual cameras with Sony IMX 519 sensor, powerful Snapdragon 710 processor, and a big 4,045 battery with VOOC 3.0 fast charging support.

The Realme 3 Pro comes at a starting price of Rs. 13,999 in India and it will go on sale on April 29. We have listed here 5 reasons to buy the Realme 3 Pro and also 3 reasons not to buy this as per our review.

Realme 3 Pro Reasons to Buy

The Realme 3 Pro comes with some impressive features in this segment such as its powerful processor, dual cameras with Sony’s flagship level sensor, big battery with fast charging and much more. Let’s check out all the reasons for which you can buy this phone.

Powerful Processor

The Realme 3 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor. This octa-core processor is based on the 10nm process and it has Kryo 360 CPUs that are clocked up to 2.2 GHz. Interestingly, Realme 3 Pro is the most affordable phone that comes with this chipset. For memory configuration, it is paired with up to 6GB RAM.

The chipset with the combination of Qualcomm’s Kryo 360 CPUs and Adreno 616 GPU is sure to offer better gaming and multitasking experience.

Impressive Cameras

As there have been rumors that the Realme 3 Pro will come with a Sony IMX 519 sensor, it is confirmed now. The smartphone feature a 16MP Primary with an IMX 519 sensor and f/1.7 aperture. It is accompanied by a 5MP depth sensor. To recall, this is the same sensor which is used in the OnePlus 6T.

We clicked some pictures with the Realme 3 Pro and we were quite impressed with all the results. However, in some pictures, we didn’t like the color tone that it offers with a yellowish tint in some pictures.

It also comes with a dedicated nightscape mode just like the 6T. There is also an Ultra HD mode that the company claims can click images in 64MP resolution.

For the selfie camera, there will be a 25MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture. It also clicks decent selfies in all lighting conditions. Here are some camera samples.

For videos, the camera can shoot up to 4K quality videos as well as 960fps slow-motion videos. The front camera can also record full HD videos.

Big Battery and Fast Charger in Box

The Realme 3 Pro packs a 4,045mAh battery. Also, as revealed in previous leaks, it comes with VOOC 3.0 fast charging support. Interestingly, the 20W fast charger comes with the box content. If we talk about charging time, this charger can charge the big battery of Realme 3 Pro in just 1:20 hrs.

RAM, Storage, and Connectivity Features

The Realme 3 Pro comes with up to 6GB RAM which is LPDDR4X RAM. Also, it has up to 128GB storage that is also fats storage. Further, it has dedicated slots for SIM cards and micro SD. So you can also expand the memory up to 256GB via microSD. These features are usually not there in this segment so this can be a good reason to buy this phone.

Fortnite Support

The last but not the least reason is that it comes with Fortnite game support. This game is currently not supported by any other phone in this segment, not even in the Redmi Note 7 Pro. However, in the future, that phone can also support this game. Currently, Realme 3 Pro is the only phone with Fortnite support, and this can be a good reason for gamers to buy this phone.

Realme 3 Pro Reasons Not to Buy

Apart from the above-mentioned reasons, there are a few things in this phone that are not up to the mark. So, here are those few reasons not to buy this phone.

Build Quality

The Realme 3 Pro is coming with a gradient back design that the company calls 3D Superway design. Unlike the Redmi Note 7 Pro, that offers a premium glass back at the same price, the Realme 3 Pro has a plastic back panel.

In build quality, there is a good thing though. Up front, it has the same dewdrop notch display like previous Realme mobiles. It has a 6.3-inch IPS display with FHD+ resolution which is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

ColorOS

The Realme 3 Pro runs on the Android 9.0 Pie with Color OS 6.0 on top. This ColorOS from OPPO comes with many bloatware applications that users may not like. These apps like NewsPoint and ShareChat also send push notifications that may be annoying for many. Although the UI depends on the user’s preferences, we do not like the ColorOS much.

Micro USB Port

The Realme 3 Pro comes with the micro USB port for charging and data transfer. This is a drawback for many users as its competitors Redmi Note 7 Pro and Galaxy M30 come with the USB Type C port.

However, since the phone supports fast charging so it should not be a big issue.

The Realme 3 Pro price starts at Rs. 13,999 for the 4GB/64GB model and it will go on sale starting from April 29 via Flipkart and Realme online store.
