How to Share Your Phone’s WiFi Connection With Multiple Devices

What to do if you want to connect your laptop to WiFi but you are able to pick up a WiFi signal only on your phone? What about if you want to connect multiple devices to a WiFi connection, but only one device is in the range? There is a solution – you can share your phone’s WiFi connection to multiple devices using Bluetooth.

If you don’t have direct access to a wireless internet connection, it’s quite easy to share your phone’s or any device’s WiFi connection to other devices. Use Bluetooth Tethering.

Unlike using your phone as a Wi-Fi hotspot, it’s slightly different as you’re sharing a single internet connection between multiple devices. Here, your phone is connected to a WiFi connection and you share that connection with other devices and not your mobile data.

Share Phone’s WiFi over Bluetooth

First of all, get your phone online using a WiFi connection, and then you’ll be ready to configure the connection for sharing over Bluetooth. Though sharing a wireless connection is no great deal but if you don’t have access to the internet, it’s is a good option to share it via Bluetooth. Follow these simple steps after connecting your phone.

First, go to Connected devices and also make sure your phone’s Bluetooth is On. When you’re certain that Bluetooth is enabled on your device, go to Network & Internet -> Hotspot & tethering -> Enable Bluetooth tethering.

With this done, you can then use the Bluetooth connection on your laptop or any other device to connect to your phone and make use of its internet connection.

To connect a computer with this Bluetooth connection for using the internet: Open Devices and Printers in the Bluetooth Settings -> Devices and printers and click on Add a device.

When your phone is added, right-click the icon representing your phone and select Connect using -> Access point and Voila! You’re ready to start using the internet shared by your phone.
