Making initial leaks true, Lenovo has launched Phab 2 Plus in India with a price tag of INR 14,999. It is the successor to the last year’s Lenovo Phab Plus and is available for purchase on Amazon. The USPs of the phone are the massive 6.4-inch display and the dual-camera setup on the back.

Question- How is the Design and Build Quality?
Answer – Despite sporting 6.4-inch massive screen, the phone is not as difficult to hold as on one would think, thanks to curved back. It has a unibody metallic design that feels premium to hold. That said, the thickness (9.6mm) of the phone along with comparatively large bezels (~73.5% screen-to-body ratio) play spoilsport to make overall ergonomics less appealing.

Answer – It has a 6.4-inch IPS LCD display with 73.5% screen-to-body ratio. It comes with a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (~344 ppi pixel density). it looks decent but the brightness levels are on not up to the mark. Sharpness is not good either.

Answer – It has Gorilla Glass protection but the company has not specified the which generation Gorilla Glass is used.

Answer – The main problem with the phone is its processors and GPU. Not sure why Lenovo opted for previous generation hardware; don’t expect smooth gaming or great multitasking. In a nutshell, if you are a power user, you better stay away from this phone.

Answer – The camera performance is good in good ample light conditions. The rear camera has some nifty features like AR mode and bokeh effects . Focusing is slow, color reproduction is fine, and dynamic range is on a lower side. In regards to the front camera, selfies are decent and have plenty of details.

Overall, I can say it is a half baked attempt from Lenovo. With a mediocre hardware on paper the phone has still lot to prove. I couldn’t find an outstanding feature in the phone till now but we can be sure only after we have tested the device. So it is indeed it is not the right time to recommend it over Mi Max.
