Samsung announced its Galaxy On7 a few days ago and we’ve got our hands on Samsung’s latest budget smartphone. And as we conduct our tests for the quick reviews and a thorough analysis of the phone, here’s a review of the camera on the Samsung’s latest:

Samsung On7 Camera Review

Samsung On7 Full Coverage

Samsung Galaxy On7 Camera Hardware

The Galaxy On7  has a 13 MP camera that can shoot pictures in 4128 x 3096 pixels. Video recording on this phone is encoded in the standard FHD 1920 x 1080 resolution at 30 fps. The camera also supports face detection. Up front, we have a 5 MP camera– a number that should be adequate for almost all use-cases.

Samsung Galaxy On7 Camera Software

The Galaxy On7’s camera software is old-school Samsung designed, which is to say that if you’ve used the camera on any recent Samsung smartphone, you should be familiar with the controls of the various modes of the software. Icons are neatly tucked away and are easily accessible too.

Samsung Galaxy On7 Camera Performance

For the price-bracket that the Galaxy On7 conforms to, we were not impressed by the photos taken from either of the cameras. While it still won’t disappoint you, new entrants in the price-range that Samsung seems to target, such as the Coolpad Note 3 far outperform the Galaxy On7’s camera. The On7 produced decent and crisp photos but lacked colour accuracy, sharp focus and seemed slightly washed out, overall. The front facing camera performed as good as any other phone in this price range.

Conclusion

While the Galaxy On7’s camera is a decent performer and won’t make you regret your decision of buying the phone, if you do, there are better cameras out there for around just as much as the Galaxy On7 is expected to retail. If critical details don’t matter to you so much, however, we think you can easily count on the Galaxy On7’s camera to produce a decent photo. We’d love to hear your thoughts on the Galaxy On7’s camera performance in the comments bellow.
