Another Moto E competitor has arrived, this time from Xolo camp. Xolo has launched several great selling phones under 10,000 INR including the likes of Xolo Q700, Xolo A500s and all there variants. With increasing KitKat competition in budget Android segment, will Xolo Q600s be convincing enough? Let’s take a look.
Camera and Internal Storage
Like other rivals, Xolo Q600s also features a 5 MP rear camera with LED flash support. Checking all required boxes, Xolo also provides a basic VGA front shooter, just to keep video calling an open option. In terms of Megapixel count, the phone falls short of Lava Iris X1, which has an 8 MP rear/ 2 MP front camera. If Xolo is using the same sensor as on Xolo A500 series, you can expect average performance. The rear camera can record HD videos.
Internal Storage is standard 4GB and you can expand it by 64 GB using MicroSD. The internal storage is not very impressive, but that’s what every Android OEM is offering at this price range.
The good thing is Xolo has provided with 64 GB microSD support which differentiates it from others and will be appealing for those willing to carry large multimedia collection with them. Xolo has also provided with USB OTG to solve all your storage woes.
Processor and Battery
Xolo Q600s is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core chipset, but the chipset maker is not yet specified. The chipset is backed by 1 GB RAM and is expected to deliver smooth performance at this price range. Since snapdeal mentions the presence of Videocore IV GPU we can safely assume that it’s a Broadcom chipset. The chipset can also play full HD videos.
Battery capacity is 2000 mAh and according to Xolo, this will provide you with 400 hours of standby time and 11 hours of talk time and 47.6 hours of Music playback, and this does sound impressive in this price range.
Display and Other Features
The Display is 4.5 Inches in size and offers 960 x 540 pixels similar to Moto E. The pixel density is 245 PPI. This is the only Moto E competitor so far which matches it in terms of display resolution. It remains to be seen if it can match it in terms of color reproduction.
The Dual SIM phone is only 7.9 mm thick and weighs only 115 grams. The phone runs on latest Android 4.4 KitKat which is more advanced and resource efficient than previous Android version. Xolo has not promised any software update so far, but that won’t be a deal breaker for most.
Comparison
The phone will compete against latest brigade of KitKat phones under 8,000 INR and other established ones including Lava Iris X1, Moto E, Micromax Unite 2 , Micromax Canvas Engage and Nokia X.
