Binatone App Star Android Tablet for Kids at Rs. 9,999

This month we have seen launch of a few kid friendly tablets, including Swipe junior and HCL ME Champ tablets. Today Binatone has added another name to this list, by announcing its version of Kids tablet, App Star priced at Rs. 9,999.

So what different does this tablet has to offer to justify the price tag? Let’s try and find out. This phone has come up with 7 inch display whose resolution has not been specified. The processor is of 1 GHz, with only One CPU core and the RAM capacity is 512 MB. The internal storage is 4 GB and can be further extended to 32 GB using a MicroSD card.

This ‘APP STAR’ is packed full of software suitable for children of 4 years and above. It has preloaded fun games, educational apps, art studios, e-books, audio-books, music player and camera with video recorder,” Binatone Country Head S P Singh said in a statement.

The device features a front camera for Video calling and self portrait, and comes with a shock proof cover which prevents the tablet from damage even if it drops from table height. The battery backup is of 4 hour and the tablet supports Wi-Fi connectivity.


This Android tablet can be operated in two modes, Kids mode called App star Mode and Parent mode which offers standard android tablet functionality, we have seen in all other tablets for kids. You can fix your kids daily viewing time and also regulate the content.

This tablet is meant for kids above 4 years of age and the hardware specifications will also suffice for them, but the price seems a little high considering the features and the competition. The company also plans on launching full range of Kid friendly products, like racing car, speaker dock, etc by the year end.
