Honor 7X receives Face Unlock feature in India after the latest OTA update

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has rolled out an OTA update for the Honor X that brings the much-anticipated Face Unlock feature to the budget smartphone. Honor had earlier added this feature in the Chinese market via an OTA update.

Honor had earlier released the Face Unlock feature for the Honor View 10 and Honor 9 Lite recently. The Face Unlock feature will enable the user to unlock the smartphone by using its face. The Face recognition feature can be found in the Honor 7X‘s Settings menu and you can enroll your face by looking at the camera. The setup will guide you through the steps to enroll your face to unlock your smartphone.

To get this new update on your Honor 7X, go to Settings > System update > Check for updates. Once you see an update, download it and begin to install it on the device, your device will reboot to finalize the update. One the smartphone reboots, your phone is ready to use with the new Face Unlock feature which you can find inside the settings menu.

If you don’t see a new update then don’t worry because you will find it in a few days. The company has said that all Honor 7X devices across India will get the Face Unlock feature by 16th March 2018. The full changelog of this update is not available, we will share it with you later.

Huawei is also dropping the Android 8.0 oreo update for its smartphones but there is still no clue about the Android 8.0 Oreo update on Honor 7X. The company has also announced that the smartphone is now Made in India at the Flex plant in Sriperumbudur, Chennai.
