After rumors and leaks, Samsung has officially announced its Galaxy A9 (2018) smartphone. The company’s latest mid-range phone is industry’s first phone with quad rear camera setup. This has a 24MP+10MP+8MP+5MP rear camera setup and also has a 24MP front camera. Other key features include 6.3-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED infinity display, Snapdragon 710 SoC with up to 8GB RAM, and a 3,800mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) specifications

If we talk about full specs, the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) sports a 6.3-inch Full HD+ (1080×2220 pixels) Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity display. Under the hood, it gets an octa-core Snapdragon 710 10nm processor with Adreno 616 GPU. Memory wise, it has up to 8GB RAM with 128GB storage which is expandable up to 512GB via micro SD card.

In terms of camera, there are four camera at the back. There is a 24MP camera with LED flash, f/1.7 aperture, a 10MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, an 8MP 120° Ultra Wide lens with f/2.4 aperture and a 5MP f/2.2 depth sensor. There is a 24MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture. The phone also sports a back mounted fingerprint sensor.

The smartphone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with Samsung Experience on top. The Dual SIM phone has dedicated slots for SIM cards and micro SD card. Other connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5GHz), VHT80, Bluetooth v5, GPS + GLONASS, and NFC. It packs a 3800mAh battery with adaptive fast charging support.

Price, availability

The Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) is priced at 599 Euros (Rs. 51,300 approx.) in Europe, 39990 rubles (Rs. 44,500 approx.) in Russia and £549 (Rs. 53,720 approx.) in UK. It  comes in Caviar Black, Lemonade Blue and Bubblegum Pink colors and will go on sale from November 2018 in select markets.
