Vivo had showcased the world’s first smartphone with in-display fingerprint scanner last week at the CES 2018. Now, the phone dubbed as Vivo X20 Plus UD with an in-display fingerprint sensor has been certified by TENAA in China. It is similar to what Vivo showcased at the CES.

Vivo has already said that the first in-display fingerprint scanner smartphone will be launched in early 2018. Now, it seems the phone is to be launched very soon. The new Vivo X20 Plus UD comes with similar specifications with the original X20 Plus that was launched back in September in China.

If we talk about the in-display fingerprint scanner technology, Vivo is using an optical fingerprint sensor made by Synaptics. The in-display fingerprint scanner lets users unlock their smartphone through one-touch directly on the smartphone display. At the CES announcement, Vivo said that its in-display fingerprint technology performs better than other authentication solutions available for full-screen smartphones.
