Smartron brings Qualcomm Mesh Networking platform for IoT homes in India

Smartron, an Indian startup, announced that it is planning to introduce the newly launched Qualcomm Mesh Networking platform for Internet of Things connected devices for the Indian market. The Qualcomm Mesh Networking Platform, unveiled in May this year, can be leveraged by OEMs and broadband carriers to deliver next-generation connected home experiences.

Smartron quickly sensed a business opportunity to engineer scalable product ecosystem for smart home solutions catering to the Indian consumer needs and infrastructure requirements. Though the Indian IoT market is still in embryonic stage, the growing urbanization and realization of advantages of a smart home make it a potential business area for companies.

Using the Qualcomm Mesh Networking Platform, Smartron’s Mesh Wi-Fi platform features Qualcomm Wi-Fi SON (Self-Organising Network) Feature suite, that is designed to ensure corner to corner Wi-Fi coverage in the house, the Qualcomm IoT Connectivity Feature Suite that supports multiple IOT communication protocols for virtually seamless onboarding and control of a wider range of IoT devices. Voice-control capabilities are baked into the ecosystem so that users can seamlessly communicate with the devices to get the tasks done.

The devices cater the needs of customers across Home, Health, Infra and Personal verticals. It is worth noting that iconic cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is one of the angel investors of the company.
