karbonn s5 vs a116 hd

Micromax’s Canvas HD A116, the first Indian device launched with the quad core processor, was released a month ago and has created a record of sold on the first day of its release. The first batch of Micromax’s Smartphone was sold out within minutes of its release online which was really a surprising and from the time we have continuously seen different quad core device flowing in the market form the different brands and the Micromax’s most likely Rival Karbonn, few days ago launched its latest quad-core Smartphone, Titanium S5, which is quite same with Canvas HD A116 specs wise.

As the device share many common feature, the problem for choosing between Karbonn Titanium S5 and Micromax A116 Canvas HD is faced by many persons who want to buy a Smartphone with good features and with a price around Rs.15,000. We were continuously getting mail from the people putting this concern and hence we are comparing the spec of the device in details.

Processor and Battery:

As we already know both the device Micromax Canvas HD and Karbonn Titanium S5 pack quad-core processors with 1.2GHz CPU speed, but the difference here is both but contain different chipsets. Micromax use the cheapset made from MediaTek MT6589 where as the Karbonn’s device got a processor from Qualcomm Snapdragon series. And hence the karbonn Titanium S5 surely wins the race of performance and we can expect a better performance from S5 as compared to Micromax canvas HD.

Talking about battery, Karbonn got a li-on 2000mAh powered battery where as Micromax got 2100mAh battery power. But as the Karbonn S5 processor is better than Micromax canvas but you will get the approximately same battery backup time from these devices.

Connectivity and Features:

Both the device house Android v4.1 Jelly Bean OS and support Dual SIM (GSM+GSM) with Dual Standby. They also support all the basic connectivity including 3G, 3.5mm Audio Jack , FM Radio, Audio Jack, GPRS, Edge, Wi-Fi 802.11 B/g/n, Bluetooth and a Micro SD Card( Up To 32 GB ). The Other feature also seems same including 8.0 MP Camera (3264×2448 Pixels) with Auto Focus And LED Flash but there is one more major difference we observed between the two device is there display.

Micromax sports the 5.0 Inches HD IPS Capacitive Touch screen with the resolution of 1280X720 pixels  where as the Karbonn got a poor display with 5.0 Inches of QHD IPS Capacitive touchscreen with resolution of 540X960 pixels.

Conclusion:

Both Canvas HD and S5 Titanium smart phablets share almost same featured ends but performance wise karbonn S5 Titanium seems better as compared to Micromax Canvas HD but about the display resolution Canvas HD seems to be very high-tech, advanced and far better than S5 Titanium. And the display could be the reason, why A116 is in huge demand and why on online store day by day the price of A116 is increasing. But i will say if you are not much concerned about the display then for 11,999 INR Karbonn S5 Titanium could be a better option to go with.
