LG has just launched the G Pro 2 and the phablet will be LG’s answer to the Note 3 which has been selling pretty well since its launch in the country as well as globally. LG will be launching the G Pro 2 in India on March 3 according our sources and the same is expected to be priced around Rs 45,000-50,000.
Display and Processor
The LG G Pro 2 comes with a 5.9 inches IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a pixel density of 373 ppi. It gets Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top for protection and so does the Note 3. It has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels as well with a pixel density of 386 ppi.
G Pro 2 gets a 2.23 GHz quad core Snapdragon 800 processor which offers a top notch level of performance and an Adreno 330 GPU teams up with the same. The Note 3 gets the Mali-T628 MP6 as the GPU unit and an Exynos Octa core processor which has a 1.9GHz quad core Cortex A15 and a 1.6 GHz quad core Cortex A7 unit doing the duty. The Snapdragon 800 comes across as a better performer in terms of performance than the Exynos counterpart. Both have a 3GB RAM.
Camera and Memory
The G Pro 2 comes with a 13MP at the rear which is capable of 4K video recording and slow motion video recording in 720p @ 120 fps as its chief features. It also comes with Optical Image Stabilisation+ for better low light imaging. It gets a 2.1MP camera up front for video calling and selfies. The Note 3 on the other hand has a 13MP rear camera as well and a 2MP front camera. The rear camera gets dual shot, simultaneous 720p video and image recording as its key camera functionalities.
Both of them get 16GB as well as a 32GB internal storage variant and will offer a microSD card slot for expansion of memory by another 64GB via a microSD card.
Battery and Features
Both of them have a 3,200 mAh battery giving them the juice to run. The G Pro 2 will last a little less than the Note 3 because of the fact that it uses a slightly more resources. Expect them to last for around a day.
Both of them now run on Android 4.4 KitKat but the Note 3 gets S-Pen and a slew of functionalities that come with it. The G Pro 2 misses out on a stylus and gets features like Knock On which is a gesture control system for the phablet. So things are pretty square in this department as well.

Conclusion
The Note 3 falls short of the G Pro 2 in terms of performance but makes up for the same with faux leather back and S-Pen. The G Pro 2 matches the Korean counterpart on every frontier and its price will determine if it comes across as a better performer. The Note 3 is currently selling for Rs 45,000 but if LG prices the G Pro 2 around the price range, we might just have a competition in the high end phablet segment on our hands.
